AI4ALL (artificial intelligence for all) is a new non-profit with the mission of bringing diversity and inclusion to artificial intelligence development, research, education and policy. The impact of AI on society is one of the more important questions facing humanity and we hope to drive the agenda that emphasizes AI’s potential to solve an incredibly diverse set of important societal problems. AI4ALL was founded by leading technologists including Dr. Fei-Fei Li, Director at the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and Chief Science of AI/ML, Google Cloud and seed funded by Melinda Gates (Pivotal Ventures) and Jensen Huang (CEO/Founder of NVIDIA). AI4ALL's core model is educating and supporting the next generation of diverse leaders in AI through summer camps for underrepresented high school students at leading Universities including: Stanford, UC Berkeley, Princeton, Carnegie Mellon and Boston University. AI4ALL is scaling its impact in 2019 and is seeking a driven individual to help us support our alumni throughout their education and career journeys.  

About the Position

The Alumni Program Manager is responsible for leading equity-based support, building an inclusive community and managing global engagement for AI4ALL alumni. They will develop communications, operations and programming to best support AI4ALL alumni in high school, college and careers. They will collaborate with the Directors of University Partners, Education Programs and Corporate Partners to implement long-term plans for technical skill enhancement, career development and community-building. The Alumni Program Manager will report to the Director of University Programs.

 

Responsibilities include:


Planning and Management
Develop, implement and maintain the program plans for high school, college and out-of-school AI4ALL alumni

Collaborate with the team to support grant selections, fellowship-mentor matches, and alumni leadership development

Maintain metrics and assess the impact of the alumni program. Analyze the effectiveness of strategies and programs, and implement strategic and operational recommendations

Collaborate with Program Directors to develop metrics for alumni leadership grant and research fellowship selections.

Collaborate with Directors of University Partnerships and Corporate Partners to streamline and document the process for matching alumni with research and/or career mentors, internships and special educational opportunities

Represent AI4ALL during program graduations and university alumni sessions

Program Design

Cultivate university relationships and partnerships with national community-based organizations and networks to refer alumni to career development and college access/support services

Develop and implement annual welcome orientation/virtual party, regional meetups, graduations and special events for alumni

Oversee communications to alumni, including individual contact and group announcements

Support volunteer/fellowship mentor programming and events

Alumni Advising
Advise and oversee the alumni-directed regional leadership teams, programs and events

Advise a cohort of scholars in a manner that builds their leadership skills and maintains high engagement and program retention

Provide leadership development training and programming to the alumni regional leadership teams and support the IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems High School Committee

Ensure all alumni-directed programs and events are mission-focused, aligned with the strategic plan, high quality and within budget

Required Qualifications

Experience coordinating, programming and supporting first-generation, low-income and students of color in educational settings

Experience in program design, evaluation and metrics

Excellent public speaking, presentation and customer service skills

Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills

Experience and sensitivity in addressing the needs of a diverse student population

Flexibility and adaptability in work schedule to permit overnight travel, evening and weekend commitments

Ability to assume responsibility with minimum supervision, and work in a team environment
