AI4ALL - Open Learning Program Curriculum Manager

AI4ALL is seeking a full-time Curriculum Manager for the Open Learning Program (OLP), a brand new education program launching this spring that will teach high school students how to develop AI projects for social good.

The Curriculum Manager will be in charge of crafting the student learning experience and giving students the skills and tools they need to make an impact through AI. The ideal candidate will have technical experience in AI, practical knowledge of curriculum development, familiarity in working with K-12 students and teachers, a thirst for knowledge themselves, and a commitment to AI4ALL’s mission. This role is an opportunity to shape the vision of AI4ALL’s newest program.

Role and Responsibilities

The Curriculum Manager reports to the VP of Open Learning and is responsible for creating a rigorous, inclusive learning experience for students, resulting in:

  • Increased student mastery of ethical AI,
  • More global student-driven AI projects, and
  • A broader understanding of how high school students can use AI for social good.

To achieve those ends, the Curriculum Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Identifying student learning goals,
  • Developing curriculum to reach student learning goals,
  • Developing and managing a curriculum roadmap and development cycle, including:
    • Managing curriculum feedback and iteration through development cycle,
    • Managing curriculum consultants, editors, and reviewers,
    • Managing content partnership relationships and choosing aligned content for curriculum development,
  • Developing project frameworks and project meeting formats,
  • Managing curriculum uploads and organization on the curriculum delivery platform,
  • Managing instructor training development and support,
  • Assisting with curriculum platform maintenance and other operational needs related to curriculum and training, and
  • Staying up-to-date on best K-12 AI teaching methods, and on AI tools, frameworks, and libraries that are useful for teaching to K-12 groups.

 

Qualifications

We’re seeking candidates with curriculum experience, technical expertise, and a desire to learn in a startup environment. You should have:

  • BS or at least 3-4 years work experience in Computer Science, AI, ML, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline,
  • At least 2-3 years experience developing curriculum, ideally with a K-12 student audience,
  • Successful experience teaching complex technical topics to a beginner audience,
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, startup environment,
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly, alongside a lifelong thirst for learning,
  • Ability to travel and work on weekends occasionally for conferences, student events, and the like,
  • A vision for the Open Learning curriculum,
  • Initiative,
  • An appreciation for technical rigor without using jargon, and
  • A desire to increase diversity and inclusion in technology.

K-12 classroom experience and experience with developing K-12 teacher training are plusses but not requirements.

Compensation depends on experience and is highly competitive for non-profits.
