AI4ALL is an Oakland, Calif.-based nonprofit that opens doors to the artificial intelligence industry for underrepresented talent through education and mentorship. We nurture a global community of students who learn AI fundamentals, then apply those principles to solve society’s most pressing problems in deeply innovative and ethical ways. By telling a new story about who can be a maker in AI, we’re creating tomorrow’s AI leaders and changing technology’s future. About the Position
The Alumni Program Associate is responsible for supporting the wider network of Changemakers in AI. The Changemakers in AI program is to create a sustained pipeline of resources and opportunities to support AI4ALL graduates to and through their careers in artificial intelligence. They will work primarily with the University Programs team to provide logistics and operations support. The Alumni Program Associate will report to the Alumni Program Manager.
 
Responsibilities

  • Program & Administrative Support
  • Directly liaise with high school and college AI4ALL program alumni
  • Manage Changemakers in AI monthly newsletters, email account, and social media accounts 
  • Support sourcing alumni internship and research opportunities within the tech industry 
  • Coordinate community outreach events including logistics of venue, vendors and contracts
  • Supporting student recruitment process
  • Provide event support for all alumni programming
  • Provide administrative support in promoting, evaluating, and processing alumni grants and applications


Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of event and program planning experience; tech interest
  • Experience working with first-generation, low-income and students of color in educational settings
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills 
  • Detail-oriented, initiative, and drive for excellence
  • Sensitivity to addressing the needs of diverse student populations
  • Flexibility and adaptability in work schedule to permit overnight travel, evening and weekend commitments
  • Ability to assume responsibility with minimum supervision, and work in a team environment
  • Background in computer science and/or technology is a plus!
